"Ausblick" offers a wealth of material on topics which focus on the lives, experiences and interests of German teenagers. The texts used throughout the book are taken from the internet, teenage magazines and literature to ensure their relevance to young people and also includes a wide range of projects.

The course combines grammar and vocabulary work with written work so that students pick up and learn linguistic rules as they work. The workbook includes additional vocabulary and grammar exercises and an oral training programme which focuses on points which students often find difficult, together with written exercises helping students to create their own texts and cultural pages linked to the topic in each chapter.

The teacher's book offers games and photocopiable sheets on the themes covered, transcripts of the listening texts and answer keys for the course and workbook.
