The "Zertifikat" of the course title is the "Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache", but could apply equally well to preparation for any intermediate level examination for German. Much emphasis is placed on the speaking and listening elements in this course, and the writing and reading skills are given proper attention in the "Ubungsbuch", so that the student develops good all-round ability in German. The "Testbuch" contains two model exams, four short tests, transcripts of the listening material and an answer key.
