For intermediate level students, "Die Falle des Kommissar Wagner" provides intensive training in listening comprehension in a systematic and entertaining way. Students accompany Inspector Wagner in his work and are encouraged to try to solve his five cases themselves through attentive listening - it is recorded on a 30-minute cassette.

Complementing the cassette is a "Begleitheft", containing transcripts of the cases, multilingual vocabulary lists, illustrations and photocopiable worksheets, which include a variety of listening exercises to lead students from cursory to total comprehension and, ultimately, to the perpetrators of the crimes (who are listed in the appendix). Additional exercises are also available, offering opportunities for oral or written expression and for grammar practice.
