Leselandschaft

Authors: Günther Hasenkamp
"Leselandschaft" provides intermediate students with systematic training in reading comprehension through the landscape of texts, such as signposts, postcards, newspaper articles, e-mail messages and literary extracts, which surrounds us in everyday life.
The "Lese- und Arbeitsbucher" contain authentic texts on a variety of themes, including travel, relationships, employment, multimedia and the arts. Reading strategies (cursory, selective and total) are introduced from the start and practised through progressive exercises (e.g. True/False?, cloze and quizzes). Besides reading practice, students can develop their oral and written skills and extend their word power thanks to additional exercises on vocabulary, picture description, speaking and writing in each unit. The grammar workbooks offer clear explanations and varied exercises on the grammar topics in the books. The teacher's handbook contains step-by-step commentaries, overviews of topics and background information on the texts. The listening texts are taken from "Horfelder", which complements "Leselandschaft" - (see separate entry).
