English grammar for students of other languages
Language students often face problems simply because they are not very familiar with grammatical terminology in English. They may be unable to understand specific instructions and explanations in their textbooks, and they may lack the concepts that would allow them to explore the underlying structures of the language and to discover its rules for themselves.
This series presents and explains basic grammatical terms and concepts in English and then shows how the same concepts are treated in the foreign language.
Each chapter deals with one question, for example: "What is a Noun?", "What is the Conditional?", or "What is a Possessive Pronoun?", and answers it in simple language, with many examples, flow charts, diagrams, exercises (answer key at the back of the book) and other aids to show accurate grammatical usage in both languages.
This excellent and original series caters for students of French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Latin and Japanese.
