Before passing judgement on 'yet another grammar', a simple glance at the cover and content of "Grammatik mit Sinn und Verstand" will tell the prospective user that this text- and workbook is not like any other. Each of the 20 units commences with a selection of humorous and lively extracts, from everyday as well as literary sources, which introduce the area of grammar to be covered in a lighthearted, enjoyable way. The grammar exercises are of various degrees of difficulty, ranked from 1-4. A set of blank boxes appears next to each exercise for students to keep a record of their progress. Indexes of the grammatical terms and of the extracts from the "Lesepause" appear at the back of the book, and all solutions are provided in a separate key.
