Written in large print, the first part of this dictionary contains all the key vocabulary for very young learners and is colour-coded to help users identify verbs, nouns and adjectives. The second more comprehensive dictionary showw the similarities between German words and those in other European countries.

Suggestions for vocabulary exercises for younger children consist of alphabet-based and word finding activities whilst those for older children involve sorting word lists, adding missing letters to words and identifying and locating components of compound words.

A 24 page glossary of keywords and a thematic word-picture collection of vocabulary is also included.
