Kompass DaF

Kompass DaF is an advanced-level course for adult learners with a focus on practical language skills for study and the workplace.

It covers CEFR Levels B1+, B2 and C1 and provides students with the skills to: a) learn to read and process in-depth articles and texts; b) create their own texts; c) give presentations in German, make convincing arguments and communicate effectively.

Kompass DaF:

• offers a wealth of articles for reading comprehension
• includes video clips featuring reports and interviews from WDR & SWR tv channels
• prepares students for the TestDaF, DSH, Goethe-Zertifikat B2 & C1, telc Deutsch B2 and telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exams, with advice and exercises
• includes a reference grammar and answer key for the workbook sections.

Kompass DaF uses a unique, targeted combination of language learning and skill-building to increase students' ability to learn German and use it in the workplace and at university.

There are separate sections for each key skill. Grammar points are included in the reading and listening tasks.

Kompass DaF is available in a 3- or 5-volume edition.

Klett Augmented is available so that audio files, videos and links can be scanned, played or saved on a smartphone or tablet.

Kontext

A successor of the well-known German course Aspekte, Kontext is a course for students at advanced level: CEFR levels B1+, B2 and C1.

It retains the proven structural elements of its predecessor but uses a wide range of media.

Kontext:

• is consistently orientated to the new CEFR descriptors, e.g. with tasks on language mediation and pluricultural competence.

• has 12 units in each student book, with inspiring introductory pages and a modular structure focusing on all the skills.

• has grammar points embedded in texts, through which learners can work out a "rule" for themselves before they practise the language.

• includes short video clips about useful phrases, learning strategies and grammar.

• prepares students for the Goethe/ÖSD B1, Goethe B2 and C1, telc Deutsch B1 to C1, ÖSD B2 and C1, DSH and Test-DaF exams.

Kontext is available in a 3- or 5-volume edition.

Klett Augmented is available so that audio files, videos and links can be scanned, played or saved on a smartphone or tablet.

A separate edition Kontext B1+ express, with approximately 100 teaching units for use in intensive courses.
